We can meet for a virtual coffee 15 minutes before the workshop starts, and we’ll have 15 minutes at the end for any questions and discussion.

In this 2-part workshop you will learn how to make a rosebud and rose from abaca silk. I will show you some flower-making techniques to make a realistic rose. The skills you learn over the two days can be applied to other flowers. I will also provide useful information, including a worksheet, supplier list, templates and tips. The price also includes the recordings of our Zoom workshop, and a catch-up Zoom session, where you can share your completed flower.

Kit Contains: templates, stiffened satin and silk, straw stiffener, silk thread, dyes, wire, cotton balls and tweezers. Click on the More Information tab for a complete list.

The kit contains all the materials you need to follow the Abaca Rose workshop:

A piece Abaca silk stiffened
A piece of stiffened silk satin, backed with bondaweb, for the calyx
A piece of stiffened green silk to back the satin
A small pot of straw stiffener
A spool of silk thread
Dye pastes to mix all colours
2 pieces of 22 gauge wire
2 x 15mm cotton balls
A pair of pointed tweezers
